Being in New York was a liberating experience for Nicolala. The lack of normality there enabled her to experience for the first time what's it's like to be small and normal. In love with the street life, where one can easily pass some 8000 people per day, she perceived this sea of people as something not entirely human: there was lightness, movement and transparency in their forms.
