These are observations Nicolala made from her apartment on tenth street in the East Village.
She particularly liked the sunsets, which, due to the pollution, were often beautifully colored. Never the same twice, she observed sunsets that varied from bright to moody to apocalyptic. She left New York just a few weeks before 9-11, wondering at the time why she had taken this series of photographs.
